Travel…it is a great experience to see other cultures outside our own. Read…obtain knowledge and share it with others. Most important…Spend time with the people that matter the most to you. Teacher spotlight of the week - Mrs. Becky Drege - Colony School grades 3-6 Mrs. Drege graduated from Mayville State University with a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She also has a concentration degree in Music Education but stated they don't give those out anymore. LOL Mrs. Drege began her teaching career in Towner where she taught 6th grade for 7 years. When she moved to LaMoure, she started teaching part-time in an elementary music capacity and then continued to teach both elementary music and in the regular classroom. Mrs. Drege retired from teaching, but came out of retirement to help teach at the colony. She is in her 40th year of teaching. Wowza! Thanks for all your years of helping young minds grow! Mrs. Drege and her husband, Loren, have been married for 40 years. They have 4 children and have been blessed with 10 grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, reading books, writing songs, playing piano, traveling and art projects. Mrs. Drege's advice to people would be to stand up for what is right, even if you are standing alone. She says always be a person of integrity. Mrs. Drege - we've never seen your cape or mask, but we see your superpowers every day! THANKS for being a super teacher!
