Chrissy has gone on an adventure in our community. Tell us where she visited and win and prize. A couple of things: 1. DO NOT look for her; she is no longer there. 2. DO NOT reply to this post if you know where she is. Tell a forensic science student where she is. 3. The first 15 STUDENTS who figure out where she visited will have their name put in a drawing to win a prize!

Teacher Spotlight: High School Science Teacher: Ms. Dawn Schmitt Ms. Schmitt’s first year teaching was 7th grade science at a middle school in Dallas, TX; she also coached 7th grade football, 6th grade girls basketball, and softball. Her second year teaching was high school science in Waco, TX for ½ the year and a career education teacher in Mission, SD for the rest of the year. She taught two years in Montpelier, ND, after that; she was also the junior high and assistant varsity girls basketball coach and the junior varsity and assistant varsity boys basketball coach for Litchville-Marion-Montpelier. Her next job was in Lincoln, NE, where she taught high school science six years and was the assistant girls varsity basketball coach. She currently is in her 11th year of teaching science for grades 9-12 in LaMoure. Her parents are retired and live in Dickey, ND. Her older sister, Tammy, lives and teaches in Idaho. My older brother, Dean, lives in Elk River. Her stepbrother, Todd, lives near Dickinson; he is a mail carrier. Her stepsister, Lori, lives in Mobridge, SD, where she works for the local newspaper. Her younger sister, Dava, and her family live in Dickey where she owns the bar and runs the Farmers’ Café. Her younger brothers, Dale and Drew, also live in Dickey. Dale is a mechanic, and Drew is the shop foreman at RTS Shearing. She has two dogs, Dak and Emmit. She got her BA in biology, sociology, and natural sciences with a minor in psychology from Westmar University in LeMars, IA (It is the ice cream capital of the world because Wells Blue Bunny ice cream is made there!) She got my secondary teaching certification from Valley City State University. She also has a masters degree in forensic science from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE. Outside of school, she is working to become an EMT with the LaMoure Ambulance Service. She works at volleyball and basketball games at the school, and volunteers locally. She is an avid reader, and she likes to knit, crochet, golf, and spend time with her family. Words of advice: You can’t wait until life isn’t hard any more to decide to be happy. You can always choose to spread joy or be happy in call circumstances. We have never seen your cape or mask, but we see your superpowers every day! Thanks for being a super teacher! Teacher spotlight = Mrs. Livingston Heidi has taught High School Mathematics at LaMoure Public School for 8 years. This includes Algebra 1, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Pre-Calculus, General Math, Applied Math, and Consumer Math and consists of students grades 9-12. Previously, I taught Junior High Math at Lisbon, ND. Prior to that I had worked several years as a paraprofessional and tutor. I live in LaMoure with my husband, Bryce, and 7th grade daughter, Hayden. My other children have graduated high school and Mariyah is working as a nanny in Elko, Nevada. Jeremiah lives and works in Higginsville, Missouri with his girlfriend, Tori, and my two precious granddaughters Harper and Emersyn. I graduated from Mayville State University with a BS in Secondary Mathematics Education. When I'm not busy at school, I enjoy hanging out with my family, reading, doing puzzles, and cooking. My advice for everyone would be to see the good and the beauty in all things.
